My apologies if this is the wrong forum … I just added Give WP to my site and I can’t seem to find an answer to this question:

I imported a donor CSV to front-load a campaign started on another platform, but can’t seem to move it out of “test mode.” Even though the Uploader said there were 11 donations only 1 donor has shown in the record.

Tried searching documentation, but no luck. Help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

That’s disconcerting that searching Docs didn’t bring up this doc for you which explains Test mode clearly and how to disable it:

Please review that and let me know if that clarifies it for you or whether you have additional questions at all.

I apparently wasn’t clear in my question because your link does not answer my question.

I had previously used test mode, deleted all the records, and was now loading ACTUAL donations … but it kept a donor in test mode, treating it as a duplicate.

What made it worse was that despite everything I tried, none of the donation amounts came with the import. I just gave up and created a fake donor with the right amount to show how far we are into our campaign.

Thanks for the clarification. I understand now that this is a problem with a failed import — I believed you imported donations successfully but they were all marked as “Test”.

That kind of thing typically happens when the fields aren’t mapped correctly. If you want to get it imported still, I’ll need perhaps a screenshot of the CSV (please make sure all the personal information is blurred out) and then I can advise on the best way to ensure the donations are all imported correctly.

I spent half my day last week trying to figure it out and, as an all-volunteer organization, I don’t have time for that. The fields were mapped to be IDENTICAL to the form in Give. I made sure every heading in CSV matched, as well as field type (like currency for donation amount). None of that worked.

As I said, I created “Ima Donor” to put in the amount already raised for this drive. She is anonymous and I have records from the original source. It is done.
