Just got my Wordfence activity for March 8 (for one of my clients) and I notice that:
Under “Top 10 IPs Blocked” there is a total block count for all IPs from Russian Federation of 264. However, under “Top 10 Countries Blocked” the total block count for Russian Federation is 155.

What is the difference between how these are calculated — seems like they should be the same?

Hi @feralreason thanks for getting in touch,

So that I can review the totals, can you please forward a copy of your activity report email to wftest @ wordfence . com? Please include your forum username in the subject line of the email so that I can easily find it.

Let me know here when you have sent it, so that I can check our inbox and get back to you.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

FYI – for those reading this – this is not a bug or problem. It is just a request for clarification.

    Hi @feralreason,

We’ve had a look into this a little closer and it does look like the database query that is generating the “Top 10 Countries Blocked” figure being processed in the wrong order, which is down to the WordPress database running in non-strict mode. Running in this mode is normal and nothing to worry about but is affecting the precision of the result. This explains why a manual search for a country displays higher figures than the Top 10 for the same country.

Our development team have entered a case to fix this figure in the near future, but it may be a couple of minor releases away due to our development and testing schedule already at an advanced stage for the next Wordfence update. I cannot commit to a precise timescale here on the forums, but thank-you for bringing this to our attention.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
