Recommended accessibility resources

That is a very broad question and you can be quickly overwhelmed with suggestions from tools to forums to books and so on. I’ll start with a simple list that is current (and likely to stay current).

• Getting Started with Web Accessibility from the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative should be your first stop.
• WebAIM’s Resources list, which while short, has a good basic list. While there, consider signing up for the mailing list.
• The book A Web for Everyone by Sarah Horton & Whitney Quesenbery is a good UX strategy book (and offers a free chapter on personas).
• Google’s accessibility team has released a free online course at Udacity, Web Accessibility: Developing with Empathy.

The recommendations Adrian has provided are excellent, and to those I would add WebAIR, which is a resource that is being developed specifically for developers to use while developing or testing a website. I think this resource is also great for WordPress development as well, and it has become my desk reference, with the W3C’s documentation on this subject being my fuller reference.
