Since the update to v. 1.7, I am plagued with a text at the top of each admin page that reads:

This theme recommends the following plugins: Post Status Dashboard, Privilege Widget, RactiveJS and Style Admin. Begin installing plugins | Dismiss this notice

I took at a look at each of those plugins, and have no use for them, so hit the Dismiss button. While the message then disappears, it reappears as soon as I move to another admin page.

Please could you provide a means of turning the thing off permanently?

    Hi,

It was added in by a developer and it was only approved to recommend the privilege widget plugin alongside the privilege menu plugin.

It was not meant to advertise all the plugins to users as most have a specific use not related to this plugin.

It will be removed in the following update to allow only the privilege widget plugin to be recommended alongside privilege menu.

As for your original question I have updated the TGM plugin activation class to 2.5.2 which should fix the problem your having.

Please install the new latest version.

    Thank you!

To be honest, all those plugins look useful in the right context, so I can understand why there might be a reason for bringing them to the notice of more people. It’s just annoying when you can’t turn the nag off. So thanks again!

Unfortunately, I still can’t get this to turn off permanently. It just keeps popping up again on every admin page: really annoying!

    Hi KTS915,

Are you running version 1.7.2 of the plugin?

Also can you please advise what version of wordpress you are running, and what theme? Some themes also have this function and if their TGMPA is out of date it can cause issue.

Sorry your having this problem, but this is the only report so far so I assume it is a specific case with your theme or wordpress version.

Yes, I am running version 1.7.2. I was on WP 4.4.2, but now have some sites on 4.5. My theme is a custom theme that does not use TGMPA.

I may have to talk to the developers of TGMPA to see why this is occurring.

I’m not sure what’s changed, but it has finally stopped popping up. Thanks!

Yeah I didn’t change anything or put an update out. The only thing I can think of is the updated wordpress core to 4.5 fixed your issue.

Interesting. Glad to see your issue with the notices is solved.

FYI / @fuzzguard – TGMPA version 2.6.0 will be released soon and will contain some improvements in how the admin notices are handled.

Thanks jrf. I will keep an eye out and update the plugins when the new version is released.

TGMPA has been updated to version 2.6.0

I have updated the class file in my plugin. Please update this plugin to download the newest TGMPA class file with it.
