Recommendation for Podcast Plugin

I resurrected and updated a really old (2.0.1) archived WordPress site, which was much easier than I expected (yay, WP authors!). It has a big bunch of audio files being served by the Podpress plugin. I was rather surprised that this ancient plugin still functions (mostly) on the “standard” post editor, although it seriously breaks the block editor. (The miracle is not how well the bear dances, it is that the bear dances at all…)

Since it’s pretty clear work on this old plugin has stopped, I need a new podcast plugin.

After a search, there are quite a few that at least in reading the short blurbs attached to each sound great, so I come to you asking for personal recommendations. I need something that can manage multiple feeds (channels, whatever) handily; and having one that can setup a feed default to not being syndicated (download-from-page only) would be a plus but not an absolute requirement.

Simplicity in setup/operation would be great, too, since it’s almost inevitable that if I want to move away completely from Podpress I’m going to have to manually add every blessed one of the existing ones, or come up with some way of “converting” wildly dissimilar database structures. That will take a bunch of time, so the simpler adding something new is the happier I would be.

Any recommendations from podcast plugin users would be really appreciated!
