Could anyone please recommend a better “Subscribe” plugin than “Blog Subscriptions” (Jetpack). Here are the two main things I’m trying to do:

    1) Make the email that is sent out to subscribers when I add a new post to my blog only a blurb, or maybe even just a headline, so that the subscriber has to click on a link in the email to go to my website to read the entire post.

Right now, I have the “Blog Subscriptions” widget from Jetpack installed, and I don’t see a configuration that allows me to do this. For instance, on my latest post, “Writing During Production…” the entire article was in the email sent out to subscribers. I only want a blurb, like in the “slider” on top of my blog, or just the header, which will make subscribers click through to my website if they want to read the whole post. For example, I’m on the subscriber list for the website https://www.thewrap.com. Whenever a new article is posted, I get an email with only a headline and if I want to read the article, I have to click through to their website to do so. That’s how I want my subscriber list set up.

    2) Ability to edit subscriber list. Just in case I want to delete spammers. Again, I don’t see this capability in Blog Subscriptions through Jetpack.

If Blog Subscriptions allows you to do either of these things, I would appreciate instructions on how to do it. Or a recommendation for a different widget or program that does. Thanks.

By the way, I’m a novice at WordPress, just teaching myself, so I need very clear instructions on how to do things. Thanks.
