• I’ve set up this blog (https://www.LawnBagSigns.com/Comments-Blog/) so that people could see the funny pictures, comment on them and help my search engine rating ?? .

However, there seems to be a lot of spam that is submitted as comments. I have two plug ins installed against spam – Akismet and just recently, BadBehaviour (so I’m not really sure how well it works yet).

My question is however about the smarter spammers who use generic comments such as “Great Post!”. I’ve thought about it and one thing I think would work and would make it much easier for me is that if I removed all links and just posted the comment “as is”, just the text and the name of the poster. Is that possible? I can’t seem to find such an option.

  • You can edit anything in a comment – mouse over the lower part of the comment and some options will show up – click on edit and blow the link away –

Too much work for me – if it is a generic comment from a mattress company or what ever and it shows up on my Boating Safety site – they are just flat gone – but you have a more generic site and get a wider cross section of viewers

Good luck – my spam is triple or more what it was 4 months ago.
