    Hi,

I installed this plugin and made some recipes but when I test them using Google’s rich result test there are no recipe markups! Am I doing something wrong or this plugin does not support automatic schema mark-up for recipes?

I also have another question: Is it possible to link recipes to default posts and not have custom post types for them?

    Thanks

    Hello @nwm2006

The plugin does support automatic recipe schema markup that matches the Google requirements. You can search the HTML markup of a recipe for a script tag with an HTML ID of rpr-recipe-schema.

You can insert a recipe inside a post using the [rpr-recipe id=133] shortcode where id is the ID of the recipe. Also, using a custom post type for recipes is one of the main feature/advantage of the recipe.

    Thank you for your response,

    I have 2 more question:

Do you suggest any plugin if I want to show nutrition facts like nutrition labels?

Can I import recipes from other recipe plugins like cooked?

    Thank you

And is there a shortcode or anyway to use the nutrition facts as widgets?

    Hello again,

Can provide more information or show me an example of what you mean by “show nutrition facts like nutrition labels”?

Currently there are no importers for recipes created by other plugin but this is something I want to explorer seeing that the “Cooked” plugin you mentioned is no longer supported. I will look into this and get back to you later.

here is an example for nutrition facts label on sidebar: https://demo.ziprecipes.net/authentic-dutch-apple-pie/

Do you have any documentation to see all shortcodes we can use? can we show nutrition on sidebar as widgets?

I am currently working on adding this widget in the next update which I plan on releasing this Monday.

Currently I working on creating the documentation site for the plugin so there is not a list of shortcodes for the plugin right now.

I am about halfway through implementing this feature and it occurred to me that this feature will cause a lot of problems for me in the future. For the mere fact that these nutritional facts can only be estimates at best or outright inaccurate at worse.

This is the exact reason why Google removed the need for nutritional information such as fat content, protein, carbohydrates and other such information as a requirement for their recipe schema markup. They now only require a calories count for a recipe. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/recipe

So this feature is one I will have to place on the back-burner for now.

It’s not required but its very eye catching and can attract more users
