Recently moved to new host, getting this error

Had this working for many months.

Recently moved to new webhosting provider, getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagetypes() in /home/myusername/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/modules/captcha.php on line 360

Tried this workaround, in case it’s relevant:
https://contactform7.com/captcha/

so I put this into wp-config.php
define( ‘WPCF7_CAPTCHA_TMP_DIR’, ‘/wp-content/contactform7uploads’ );

after creating the new folder with 777 permissions.

Still the same error. Any ideas? Thank you!
