Recent Posts widget not working on archive page

  • I added WP’s default Recent Posts widget in the main sidebar. I set it to show 4 posts. It works fine on every page type EXCEPT for the archive page.

    If I click on a category (in the Categories sidebar widget), this opens the archive page, listing all the posts in that category. On this page, the Recent Posts widget is not showing any posts. Instead, it shows the 2 last Pages that I created.

    Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can fix this?

    Actually … one other thing. In addition to showing the 2 last Pages I created (instead of posts) it also shows 2 other links. They’re numbers like “371” and “367” that go to Error 404 pages. I have no idea where those numbers came from…
