Recent Posts is Merely Linking to the Homepage

    Hello,

    I’m using the Recent Posts widget (which I believe comes custom with WordPress) to list my 5 most recent posts in my sidebar. However, when I click on an individual post it just redirects the browser to my homepage, rather than showing the post in a separate window or at least zooming to that particular post. I could not find any options in the recent post widget for altering this.

  • Change to the WordPress Default theme. Does it work?

    I don’t want to risk changing it in case I can’t get my blog back to the way it is. Surely there is another option?

    Do you think it is the custom theme coding that is mucking up the recent post widget?

    Yes I’m suggesting to first look at your theme to see if that’s the problem. So reviews Template Hierarchy and make sure your theme’s single.php is not causing the problem. You might also consider that a plugin is causing the problem.
