Recent Post Widget in Footer Area

    Hi there!

    In first, congratulations to Anders Norén for this great template. I’ve some doubts about display “Recent Post Widget” in the footer area. I would like to show it in the same way as Chaplin Demo, but I can’t find the widget “Recent post” in the widgets wordpress screen. It seems like it’s hidden. I explored the template files via FTP and I found the recent-post.php file in parts/widgets, but I can’t see it anywhere of wordpress desktop. Maybe is inactive?

    Anyone have the same problem? How could I display the widget “Recent post” in the same way as Chaplin Demo?

    Hi @pablogarmen,

    Glad you like it! I can see the “Recent Posts” widget in the Appearance → Widgets view on my local development environment and on the demo site, so it should be registered correctly. Give it another look, and if you still can’t find it, see if you have any plugins installed that deal with widgets, deactivate them and look again.

    Thanks you for your early answer @anlino,

    I keep going crazy looking for the “recent post” widget. I deactivate all my plugins and this widget still hidden. I uploaded a clean setup of Chaplin Theme in another wordpress installation, and I can’t see the widget neither, in Appearance → Widgets view and widgets desktop. What mistery!

    Is it possible that I have a hidden option in my files? Maybe in functions.php or recent-post.php? I don’t know, I am a junior WordPress editor ??

    Anybody have the same problem?

    @pablogarmen It seems like the widget is called “Mensajes Recientes” in the Spanish translation. Can you find a widget with that name on the widgets page?

    Thanks a lot for your help @anlino ! I was blind. I was looking for the problem in the functions.php, the styles.css… everywhere except in front of my eyes.
