Recent Post Widget by Taxonomy: Category Listed Twice, No Author (Bug?)

    I noticed a possible bug while trying to create custom sidebars. I wanted to list posts by author, but when I clicked the dropdown menu to choose the taxonomy, I noticed that “Category” is listed twice and there is no option for choosing by author.

    Here’s a screen shot of the widget.

    I did a search of the forums and didn’t notice anything about this.

    I’m using WordPress 5.2 and all plugins except Autoptimize are updated. I didn’t notice this before because I hadn’t tried to use this widget in quite a while.

  • You should ask in the plugin’s support forum, as that is not a core WP widget.

    Ah, yes. It’s the Recent Posts provided by the Ocean Extra addon. I mistook it for a core WP widget. I submitted a ticket to them about this.
