Receiving Empty Spam Comments
-
Hi all,
I’ve been receiving a lot of empty comments through a PHP form on my site and it’s caused my CPU usage to go beyond my host’s allocated limit. The admin area of my site is also loading very slowly as a result.
I’ve removed my email address from the PHP forms, but the spam keeps coming – I know it’s my form as it uses the formatting I made.
The comments come from random areas of my site such as
https://greencastleparish.com/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php
and I seem to receive them when I’m moving been sections of the admin area. Here is a sample of my error log for today so far:
Sep 02, 11:03:44 PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/www/greencastleparish.com/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 231
