Received Multiple Emails and Error in Sending Contact Forms

  • Hi all,

    We are experiencing error in submitting contact forms as it only keeps on loading when submitted. Moreover, we still receive the emails despite the error but in multiple times. Upon research on forums, we found out that this is a common issue on the latest version (5.4) of the CF7 plugin.

    With this, we downgraded the plugin into version 5.3.2. After the rollback, we conducted several test and from our view, the contact forms now work better. Yet, as much as possible, we still want to have the updated version of the CF7 plugin. Is there any way we can upgrade to version 5.4 without experiencing these errors?

  • We have been getting reports from customers as well of this issue.
    They submit the form, and the loading icon shows, but no confirmations of email sent is shown, and we don’t receive an email.

    I’ve downgraded as well to see if that helps.

    I had similar issue with contact form 7 plugin, version 5.4. Emails sent as login and unlogin users, but unlogin users didn′t get confirm notes about sending their messages.
    Emails was sending in both cases correctly. Now after roll back to version 5.3.2 everything working well. Thanks for advice.

    I have also seen this issue on a number of sites recently and there are quite. a few forum posts similar to this one. Reverted back 5.3.2 and it works again, but would be good to get this fixed in an update soon considering 5.3.2 has a known vulnerability.

    Hello,
    I found an error in sending the contact forms because between the first click on the “Send” button and the moment in which the message “message sent” appears 3 or more seconds pass.

    If someone, human or bot, continues to click on the “Send” button, within 3 seconds or more, dozens of identical emails are sent.

    This is a major issue impacting all the websites I manage
