reCAPTHA on the login page is just a decoration

  • My site is under brutal attack because the reCAPTHA on the login page is just a decoration. So it doesn’t work and my site ended up on the black list because of your plugin. The reCAPTHA widget is displayed. But if I don’t click, I can login. Please assist urgently.

    I have used Limit Login Attempts Reloaded plugin since the very beginning of building my website and have had no problems. Before approx. for more than a month, when wordpress was updated, a message appeared that that plugin was being discontinued and replaced by yours. It happened automatically. I see that the Limit Login Attempts Reloaded plugin is still available for download. Please explain to me how your plugin replaced the old plugin during the update.

    Thanks for the feedback. Issue confirmed. Will patch asap.

    By default your login should at least has a “Limit Login Attempt Settings” protection, which means after 4 times attempt, it should be forbidden for 40mins to login. This should protect your site from brutal attack. Have you changed that setting?

    It was on the 6 retries and 10 minutes lockout

    Now it is set like this:
    Lockout:
    4 Allowed retries
    10 minutes lockout

    Regarding reCAPTCHA, everything is ON and Google reCAPTCHA Keys have been entered

    reCAPTCHA Settings
    Google reCAPTCHA > ON (This will enable reCAPTCHA on Login page.)
    Google reCAPTCHA on Register Page > ON (This will enable reCAPTCHA on Register page.)
    Google reCAPTCHA on Lost Password Page > ON

    We use Houzez theme. ReCAPTCHA is enabled in the Theme options. ReCAPTCHA works on all contact forms and on the CRM login. It just doesn’t work on the WordPress login page, and that’s the most important thing.

    The reCAPTCHA issue is fixed in v3.6.

    Please update your plugin to patch.
