reCaptcha with Conditionals Fields for CF7

    Hi,

    I’ve installed latest version of CF7, ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7 and Conditionals Fields for CF7.

    Well, the validation for reCaptcha doesn’t work on the appointment form on my page, it is located on Home, on the bottom right of the mainsslider, “Reparaturanfrage”.

    On the page https://www.webillusions.it/service-shop/ and https://www.webillusions.it/kontakt/ the validation works, but there are no Conditional Fields.

    It seems, that there is a conflict with that plugin Conditionals Fields for CF7, if I deactivate it, the validation works.

    Any hint to make this work?

    I’ve installed this locally and ran some tests. Are you trying to show the reCaptcha box conditionally? If so, the problem with this is that the form will submit an empty reCpatcha response which is what one would expect simple spambots to do when trying to brute force submit forms. There is a filter hook in which one could modify the verification response wpcf7_recaptcha_verify_response, but since the token is empty, the plugin doesn’t get that far.

    If the above doesn’t describe the issue you’re running into, could you explain the issue a bit further to help us replicate it?

    Hi, no, not really.

    Sry, I explained it wrong, I tested it again, the validation works, but the validation tip “prove that you are not a robot” is missing if I don’t tick the recaptcha.

    Unfortunately, this is not a straightforward issue to fix. We’re currently looking into this with the help of the Contact Form 7 author in the following thread:

    The bit of technical info:

    This plugins ‘recaptcha’ doesn’t have a name associated with it since only 1 can be associated with a form at any time. Generally, this isn’t an issue but when Conditional Fields creates a new Validation Object in their plugin, Contact Form 7 looks for invalid tags by tag name, which it can’t find. This means it’s not necessarily a Conditional Fields issue but a conflict between what Contact Form 7 expects and what this plugin provides as far as form tags go.
