    I am now getting a ton of spam submissions using v3. Please please fix this! This is embarrassing for my customers.

  • I am also receiving spam on many of my sites after switching over to V3.

    Yes! The new system has to learn what is and is not spam. Google said this when you created your keys, at the top with a warning.

    It will take a few days to settle I guess.

    Damn… thanks Google ??

    Is there a ETA check somewhere to know when it’s settled?

    You could also consider adding Spam Filtering with Akismet while you are waiting for ReCAPTCHA v3 to learn.

    I am also receiving much spam on my site after switching over to V3.

    @buzztone thanks for the heads up re: spam filtering with akismet. I’ve just turned it on and we’ll see how it goes…

    The other advantage of akismet is that it doesn’t show the recaptcha floating widget thing which is kind of crap too…

    I’m receiving a spam email every minute! This is bad, very bad!

    Trying Askimet now but really need option to use V2!

    I don’t really like being forced to upgrade the site keys and use the new v3 recaptcha, without choice or warning before upgrade.

    Perhaps someone can explain to me why google thinks v3 recaptcha is better than v2? Surely the ‘learning’ v3 will never be as good as a person clicking a checkbox which costs less than half a second in time. It’s like spamassassin for email which will never be able to get rid of all spam, despite learning. Yet a box for humans to check is fool-proof. I really don’t get it.

    I don’t like the pop up badge on every page. MORE Google code must be on every page, don’t like the ‘learning’ and having to put up with spam. Perhaps I should be complaining to google.

    I am going to install the recaptcha plugin by bestwebsoft which uses v2 and works with cf7. I can then keep the current version of cf7 and hope the developer chooses to offer us a choice in the future.

    I have hidden the badge and added a note to my contact form.

    All sorted. ??

    @ajtruckle how did you hide the badge?

    .grecaptcha-badge {
       display:none;
    }
    .page-id-833 .grecaptcha-badge {
       z-index: 99999;
       display:block !important;
    }

    You need to replace the page id with the appropriate value. The above hides the badge on all pages except page 833 (my contact form). Also, setting the z-index means it will display on top of all other elements.

    Hi, ajtruckle
    Above code is legal for Google Terms?
    Thanks

    @ajtruckle I would NOT recommend doing that. When setting up reCAPTCHA v3 you agree to show users that you have reCAPTCHA validation. So you must leave that badge or show it in another way.

    @softfully No, it’s not legal for Google Terms.

    @tstokes8040 My goodness you are all going round in circles and I am literally getting exhausted here!
