Thank you. That worked. But by doing that, my Google Page Speed (GPS) Scores tanks.

Is there a way to have the recaptcha working and not ding my GPS?

well, the problem is *something* (a plugin) requires jQuery to be available early (making it render-blocking which impacts e.g. your first contentful paint), if you can identify that plugin and reconfigure it or remove/ replace it, you would not need to exclude jQuery from being deferred.
