reCAPTCHA v2

Hi,

WordPress doesn’t have any captchas built into it by default, you may be thinking of a plugin, or perhaps another service that uses WordPress?

I got the same email today. Definitely worth checking the settings page for the specific plugin as Marius says above.

Akismet which is managed and developed by WordPress… I was confident it uses reCAPTCHA

A fair assumption but not, it will be another plugin. They are frequently used alongside contact forms.
