WTH.. Recaptcha just suddenly stopped working in 4.7 without any warning what-so-ever.

    From your changelog:
    4.7 – NOV 7, 2019
    Improvements
    Add role=alert to form notices.
Add setting to pre-check sign-up checkbox for Gravity Forms integrations.
Add new position for WooCommerce integration: directly after the billing_email field.
Fix PHP notices for submitting a form and saving a form as an administrator.
Add link to Koko Analytics plugin.

So now in under two weeks we have 3000 spam signups mixed in with our legit signups…

Worse, there is no easy way to restore it…

It was always a crappy way to handle adding CAPTCHA to forms, but at least we could jump through all the hoops to get it working.. Now I need to replace MC4WP and all the forms we’d built into it.

WP Bruiser has never worked as well in my experience, and we use reCaptcha elsewhere already, so not terribly interested in even trying Bruiser.

  • Are you trying to solve the problem?

What have you done so far and what’s come out of it?

What error messages do you see in server logs and the browser console?

Personally, I’ve had similar cases with reCAPTCHA, which only resolved themselves by regenerating the Google API tokens.

    Hi,

I recommend using the free WPBruiser plugin, it has an integration with Mailchimp for WordPress that you can activate and it “just works” without bothering your users and seems pretty stable.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
