    Hello

I have been using contact form 7 and recaptcha v3 for quite some time with no problems on various websites.

A few days ago I saw that when submitting a form, it returned the php error “failed to submit”.

Looking at the console I saw the following error:

Uncaught (in promise) Error: Invalid site key or not loaded in api.js: (myAPIkey)

By removing the recaptcha keys from the Contact Form 7 integration the error goes away and forms can be submitted without issue.

I have created several new keys and the error persists. It’s not just on one website, it also happens to me on two others that use Contact Form 7 forms and that until recently worked correctly.

Please, could you look at what causes this error?

    Thank you

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    I’m using these plugins:

    • Elementor
    • Elementor Header & Footer Builder
    • Email Encoder – Protect Email Addresses (I have disabled this plugin but it still fails)
    • Enable Media Replace
    • Page scroll to id
    • Polylang
    • Polylang Connect para Elementor
    • Royal Elementor Addons
    • SpeedyCache (cache disabled, and still fails)
    • Sticky Header Effects for Elementor
    • Yoast SEO

These plugins have been installed for a long time and I had no problem submitting the forms. It’s a recent bug

    Which one is the theme?

    Hello
This particular website uses Astra theme, with a custom child theme.
The second site with problems uses the Astra theme only.
Lastly, the third website uses the Royal Elementor Kit theme.
The websites have been online for several months and so far I have had no problems with the forms.

Thank you, and sorry for the automatic translation…

Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7 and Yoast SEO, and clearing all cache data.

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

After deactivating all plugins and activating the twenty-twentythree theme, the console error has disappeared.

But now, when submitting the form, it loads a page with the following error:

    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 400 Bad Request error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    last test performed:
Deactivating the Royal Elementor Addons plugin, the console error disappears.
Despite this, I still can’t send emails from the form.

I have deactivated all the plugins, I have activated the default WordPress theme and still the error persists.

The response message I get in Contact Form 7 is “The submission was considered spam”

The only way to be able to send emails through contact form 7 is to DELETE THE RECAPTCHA INTEGRATION in the Contact Form 7 settings.

So I am sorry to say that I think the problem is in the Contact Form 7 plugin, as I have the same problem on three different websites, with different themes and plugins, but the solution is always to remove the reCapctha integration.

In my case reason was not resolved dependency in registered scripts. Try temporary commenting out ‘wp-polyfill’, dependency in plugins/contact-form-7/modules/recaptcha/recaptcha.php to check if is the same reason (remember to clear cache). If it will start working we will have confirmation that error is related to this dependency.

temporary commenting out ‘wp-polyfill’, doesn’t work.

The response message I get in Contact Form 7 is “The submission was considered spam”, again
