• Hi,

I have used Contact Form 7 on my site to add in some GDPR related pages that allow my clients to request data held, request data be removed and specify their communications preferences.

I noticed in the last couple of days that the reCaptcha is throwing up an error after not appearing for about 20 seconds:

Please upgrade to a supported browser to get a reCAPTCHA challenge.

Alternatively if you think you are getting this page in error, please check your internet connection and reload.

Why is this happening to me?
    Privacy – Terms

As FF Quantum is kept up to date I can’t believe it’s the browser version?
The help at Google seems to point to JavaScript being disabled but that’s not the case as I checked in about:config and it is enabled. The final thing they mention is add-ons and I only have Ad Block Plus (ABP) and Video Download Helper (VDH) installed. I disabled ABP on my site and reloaded the page and it still does it and I can’t imagine that VDH would be stopping JavaScript?

Does anyone know what could be the problem. I know there is nothing intrinically wrong as my site displays the reCAPTCHA when I use MS Edge or Google Chrome?

    Siv

  • Hello,
    I had the same issue…
It seams that this problem comes if you add this code: add_filter(‘wpcf7_load_js’, ‘__return_false’); in your function.php file of your theme

I added it because CF7 was not working on mobile… but after few checks recaptcha was not working on FireFox… I deleted the added code and now it recaptcha comes back on FireFox…

Now I do not know how to solve the problem to have all things working!
Can you please check if you added this code line and if deleting it solves also your issue?

    Thank you.
    Regards.
    Thanks
