This worked for years, seemed to stop last month… I’m the wordpress Admin on the site, no significant changes that I know of lately. I have the latest Contact Form 7 plugin, WordPress 6.1 (host isn’t supporting 6.1.1 yet)

I use this plugin on our website, and I have the Google reCAPTCHA service configured on it – Site Key, Secret Key, V3 version. No errors, says “reCAPTCHA is active on this site.”

But…If I look at my widgets in the backend they all have an error message in the bottom right. I can read “ERROR fo [off-window] Invalid do [off-window].” I haven’t figured out how to read the whole text yet.

AND, If I look at the front end of the website in Safari, one of the widgets has the CAPTCHA ‘prove you aren’t a robot by clicking all the streetlights’ also ? off-window. If I look at that same page in Chrome same computer, same user account, all is good.

I disable the CAPTCHA integration in Contact Form 7 and all the challenge and warning problems went away, but then we got all the spam in the world so that wasn’t popular. That experiment tells me the problem starts in Contact Form 7. I tried asking Google Support for help, but they gave me a ‘digital shrug’ and said “try WordPress.com” like that would help.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Where on the site do you have the form having the issue?

Had same problem until I disabled reCAPTCHA v3 in Contact Form 7. Did no changes to site but noticed in last week that forms were NOT being sent with the error message, “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later“. I tried new keys from Google but still had issue. FYI, Easy WP SMTP test email worked fine.
