Recaptcha not working

Hello Henry,

normally you just have to add your reCaptcha settings in the Torro Forms sections page and then you have to activate it in the form settings (I think you have done that).

Can you give us more information about your form (used fields, multiple page form, is it embedded…) and the version of Torro Forms?

I have already obtained a public and secret key from Google.

Initially, I just ticket the box under the “Spam Protection” tab. I selected type image, light theme, compact size.

Nothing happened, or actually, when I try to submit the form I get the error message mentioned earlier.

I then tried to insert a simple text field and typed in a shortcode as per the nomenclature provided in Contact Form 7 recaptcha – [recaptcha]

This doesn’t work either – it just shows the word [recaptcha].

That’s bad, I cannot reproduce that. I will aks the developer who have implemented the captcha if he have an idea.

I wasn’t able to reproduce that yet. Can you provide me with some additional details on which plugins you’re using?

Note that you can only have one Google reCAPTCHA per page, otherwise there will be issues. This is due to limitations from Google and we unfortunately cannot work around it in our plugin.

There might also be conflicts if you use our reCAPTCHA in combination with other form plugins that also run their own implementation.

When you look at your form, do you actually see the reCAPTCHA field? Or is it not being rendered?

Hi guys, this just happened to me recently. It’s really hard to reproduce as well as it happens really intermittently. My guess is probably due to slower connections or some sort of race conditions?

I’ve even turned off all the w3cache minifications and any cloudflare js optimisations too.

Any idea?

Ok turns out that the culprit was another recaptcha plugin that I used to secure the login and comments. It seems that although comments is disabled, the scripts are still loaded. After turning off the other recaptcha plugin, it’s all good.

For those interested, the way to replicate this is simply refresh the form page rapidly about 5/10 times and you’ll see the capthca craps out every now and then.
