I decided to add reCAPTCHA to this form, because I was starting to get some spam from it. So I turned on v3 and entered my site key and secret key, but when I look at the form, no reCAPTCHA appears. If I fill in the fields and submit, the submit button doesn’t work. Please advise.

FYI I’m using it in Firefox 94.0.2 on Mac OS 10.15.7 Catalina.

    Hi @stingpin,

I see a 404 error for the reCAPTCHA JavaScript file on that page.

Go to the settings (on https://www.google.com/recaptcha) and click to edit that reCAPTCHA you are using, in the “Domains” settings, do you have deconstructingcomics.com set?

It should look like this https://i.imgur.com/eH09xMU.png

It’s a weird issue. In such cases the fastest way is to get into the admin to debug but that is against the rules here on the support forum (would cause account termination) so we definitely can’t go with that.

So, I’m not 100% sure how to proceed.

Can you try the reCAPTCHA v2 instead of v3, let’s see if that one works out. In any case we’ll get some more information, so let’s try it out. So create a new instance at google.com/recaptcha and choose V2, then get the site key and secret key and apply them in the plugin settings. Also switch it to V2 in the settings as well.

OK, you helped me find the issue — the keys were set up on Google as v2! I hadn’t realized that was there – I had set them up quite a while back. Working now! Thanks.

Great, happy to hear it’s sorted out.
