• Hello,

I used to have recaptcha version 3 installed on my contact form. But I had recaptcha v2 installed for EDD on the same site. Until recently, they both were able to work side by side. But I started having trouble with recaptcha v2 after an update of EDD. Unfortunately, I could not make them work together anymore, and EDD was more important for me. So I removed recaptcha v3 keys from my Contact Form 7 integrations page, and installed WPBruiser instead. What is really strange is that I still get the recaptcha badge at the bottom right of the page. Do you know why that may happen?

    Thank you.

It’s likely you have not removed recaptcha v3 correctly – it is a little tricky.

You definitely can’t use recaptcha v2 & recaptcha v3 at the same time.

You might want to try Contact Form 7 – reCaptcha v2 in addition to Contact Form 7. Once installed and configured it offers the same reCaptcha functionality you are used to in previous versions of Contact Form 7 (recommended by CF7 plugin author).

    I’m having a similar issue.

Contact Form 7 reCapture completely breaks reCapture on the Buddypress registration page.

I removed reCapture off registration and it’s still broken.

I removed reCapture from Contact Form 7 and registration and registration is still broken.

I deactivated the Contact Form 7 plugin, but the reCapture logo from Contact form 7 is still appearing and the registration page still doesn’t work.

The only way I found around it is to delete Contact Form 7 completely. The entire plugin. Then registration will begin to work again.

You can re-install Contact Form 7 again, but whatever you do do not activate reCapture again, because you can’t get rid of it once it’s there, unless you delete the plugin again which means you’ll have to create all your forms from scratch again.

I’m currently using Contact form 7 without any reCapture because I can’t risk the damage it will do having it enabled.

The reCapture badge remains even when Contact Form 7 is completely deactivated. It must add something to your wordpress installation that you can’t get rid of unless you delete the plugin completely.
Once reCapture is enabled it’s enabled for good.

@johnnykez – see I have the same problem! Can I just reply to someone else’s post with “Me too”?.

If you are willing to create a new question, which details your issues, somebody will likely be able to help you there.

Thanks Neil. That is what I thought. The question then is: how do I remove recaptcha v3 from Contact Form 7? I’ve found a lot of posts mentioning how to remove the badge, but not to completely remove the integrated recaptcha functionality.

Only be completely removing Contact Form 7 and installing it again like Johnny says?

    Thank you!
