    Hi guys,

Do you have an option on this plugin to add a Google recaptcha, or something to prevent spammers from signing up?

    Hi @lucio7

The way the social login works is that the provider (like Facebook or Google) verifies the user and send us back its details. So without an existing Facebook/Gooogle/etc account, noone should be able to go through the registration of our social login plugin and bots are unlikely to have Facebook/Google/etc account.

Are you receiving spam registrations to your site? Can you tell me why do you think they’re coming from Nextend Social Login?

We don’t have captcha integration, and we don’t plan to have any for the reasons mentioned above.

    Hi Ramona,

Yes, I think I get quite a few dud accounts.

I used to have a log-in Recapatcha from a separated plugin, but I don’t want to have too many plugins, and since I removed the amount of users who sign up and either don’t buy or don’t participate to the discussions in the forum has increased.

    Hi @lucio7

If you have membership kind of site, then I am sorry we can not guarantee that the users who login with social login will also buy something one your site, as their account will be registered regardless of their future actions.

But what you could probably do is allowing the login with social login only for users with existing WordPress accounts. For this you should disable the registration with social login at Nextend Social Login > Global Settings > General tab > Membership > Disabled – https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/global-settings/
After this users could only login with social login if:
-they have already have a WordPress account with the same email address as the email address of their social media account.
-or if they logged into their WordPress accounts, and they have already linked their social media accounts to their current WordPress account. ( You could display Link / Unlink buttons with either our widget: https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/nextend-social-login-widget/ or with the shortcode by using the link and unlink parameters: https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/theme-developer/#shortcode )

    Best regards,
    Laszlo.
