    Rebuild Index – Again and Again with differing results;

    I do not know why the Amount of links in the index differ each time I rebuild the index manually?

    Amount of configured keywords also does not have some of the keywords I have added. When I look at the exported csv file, I see them in the post.

    Kindly advise.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    May I know what is the version of our plugin are you using?

    The issue could be due to failing index builds, check the action scheduler to see if tasks are being executed correctly and no failed actions from ILJ: ?https://prnt.sc/5maJ0WvCseWO

    Thank you

    WordPress Version 6.2.2
    NameTwenty Fifteen (twentyfifteen) Version 3.4
    Version 2.1.2 by Internal Link Juicer | Auto-updates enabled

    I am not sure what does your attached image show; all tasks were completed in your image;

    same for mine, all tasks started and completed; see attached

    I noticed that all the cron jobs have the date and time stamp for 2023-08-05; no idea is this a the problem

    what I know is that if I add links, the number of links remain the same and and the Amount of links in the index varies; also, the Showing 1 to 10 of 135 entries is stuck for statics;

    if I understand how it should work, I think the number of links and showing entries should be the same and should increase / decrease depending on number of entries;

    so, just to test, I changed the theme to twenty Twenty Three and I got 2175 for amount of links, but the configured words remained the same; and so did the showing of entries

    https://paste.pics/68d4640ad0b9763ca84c61995fa2d0bb

    then I went back to Twenty Fifteen and the the amount dropped back to 1,390 and the index and showing remained the same;

    https://paste.pics/f1629e0c84176608e47fbb938c5d2d79

    just make the point, I do not think it is the theme; I was only testing to see if the configured words or the entries changed and they did not;

    I know that:

    1. amount of links vary for each build;
    2. the number of entries and configured words do not match
    3. the number of entries and configured words are stuck at the same number even if I add or drop a few keywords
    4. the cron job remains at 2023-05-08 with the change of theme, etc. etc.

    kindly advise

    what really is the heart of the problem, that the number of entries and configured words do not match;

    many of the keywords I have added do not show up on the search result under the anchor text statistics

    so, I have resolved one mystery; the number of entries really means number of posts; suggest this be fixed in the plugin to make things consistent in terminology of wordpress;

    so, I have noticed that the number of posts (entries) and amount of configured words keep changing;

    this means, some posts drop and some keywords drop randomly and automatically;

    kindly advise

    I wan to say something based on my experience. Do you write posts and save them as drafts? Because after saving a post as draft, at first Internal link juicer index it and then after manually reindexing, it removes it and after publishing it, it will index and count it again.

    >>Do you write posts and save them as drafts??<<

    thanks for your guidance

    well, I have only one draft in page and it has not link juicer, it is my workflow page;

    I have been building the index manually to test and the numbers are wild;

    it has been like this for a while, but this time, I have gotten down and spent time trying to figure it out;

    I am still waiting for response from the plugin support…

    Yes, i see. i am following your posts here since the first day you started the thread and i hope someone from the developing team solves this issue.

    so, one more test;

    I added keywords in a new post that did not have any keywords and here is the result:

    1. the Amount of configured keywords is accurate
    2. the Amount of links in the index did not change
    3. the entries count filtered from total entries differs for the Link statistics and Anchor text statistics; I have no clue why the total for entries in #3 be different ?
    4. the keyword I added does not show up in Anchor text statistics, even though the page shows up in Link statistics. why is the keyword not showing up ?

    I have confirmed that the keyword I have added exists in another post and does not have a link, but should have a link if the plugin was working as expected.

    kindly advise

    I have reported a serious issue that needs addressing;

    the lack of attention and response to this is quite telling on the part of the publisher;

    Thread Starter wnjusa

    (@wnjusa)

    I added 2 keywords in another post with no previous keywords;

    the number of keywords correctly increased by 2

    the number of entries for anchor text and link statistics dropped for both; actually halved for the anchor statistics;

    I have no clue what is going on and the plugin publisher is silent;

    To address your queries:

    1. if there is a limit of keywords per page or a configuration issue, please share
    • No we don’t have any limit for setting up keywords per page. You should be able to add as many keywords you need here:
      https://prnt.sc/zVPvW5-lkAGB

    1. so, I have resolved one mystery; the number of entries really means number of posts;
      suggest this be fixed in the plugin to make things consistent in terminology of wordpress;
    • Yes you are correct, the number of entries is meant to show how many posts are there in the dashboard statistics,
      it is not for the number of links as each post could have multiple links generated from them.

    3. the entries count filtered from total entries differs for the Link statistics and Anchor text statistics;
    I have no clue why the total for entries in #3 be different ?

    • For the Link Statistics, this entries refers to the count of posts that have generated links, this does not signify that this are all the links in the site.
    • For Anchor text Statistics, this entries refers to the count of keywords configured that has generated links:
      See here that the Amount of Configured Keywords is 1842, but in the Anchor Text Statistics it only shows
      Showing 1 to 10 of 1604 entries, meaning only 1604 keywords has generated links, and the 238 other keywords did not have any matches.
    • For the Amount of links in the index: This refers to the total number of links generated by our plugin.
      How to check if this number is correct? You need to add up all the outgoing links:
      https://prnt.sc/pPH8EwK5iOHF , https://prnt.sc/AfZzup4_7jve
      OR all the incoming links, this should give you the same number.

    1. the keyword I added does not show up in Anchor text statistics,
      even though the page shows up in Link statistics. why is the keyword not showing up ?
    • This could be that the Anchor you are looking for is not the same one that generated the link,
      it could be the other keyword if you have two keywords set in that page.

    1. the cron job remains at 2023-05-08 with the change of theme, etc. etc.
    • The Cron jobs from action scheduler are arranged by date the newest one’s would be logged at the very last.

    In what I see in the issue the main issue is this part: https://prnt.sc/nit72qYmcI8a the generated links should not have been changing this drastically every rebuild.
    You also stated that Action schedules are not failing in your last response.

    Can you send a screenshot of your ILJ Settings on this page? https://prnt.sc/e1HxBo44GqzN
    If you have an error log can send it as well it could point us to where the issue occurs and help us investigate the cause of the issue.

    The normal behavior of our plugin is that when you manually rebuild the index from here: https://prnt.sc/ndORjKSx0-SY assuming it is updated, it should not change anything and should have the same results even if you run it three times in a row.
    There would only be a change if there are keywords added or settings have been changed.

    Let us know so we can continue to investigate this matter.

    Thank you

    I confirm this issue. If you have a lot of defined keywords and posts, this problem happens.

    In my experience, i only added one more keyword to a post that already had 10 keywords, and after rebuilding index, the “Amount of links in the index” decreased!!

    Developers, please add one or more keywords to one of the posts that already have some defined keywords and then reindex and you will see that the number of links in the index may decrease instead of increasing!
