Is there a filter or hook I can use to rearrange the Yoast head tags? I want to move the entire Yoast head tags block further down the list of head tags, below all styles, scripts, resource hints and the title tag.

Same question but more specific, is it possible to move the yoast-schema-graph ld+json inline script to a different spot in the head tag order? I want it to sit with the rest of the inline scripts.

Rearranging the WP head tags can greatly improve web page performance.

    Thanks!

  • Hi @superfeincreative,

Just to make sure we understand the issue, can you give us more details about any performance problems you’re seeing related to the meta tags or the schema data?

Depending on what’s happening or if you have a suggestion for improvement, this might be better to raise as a feature request.

    Hi @priscillamc, thanks for responding.

It’s not that I have conclusive evidence of a performance issue, but rather there is a preferred head tag order that is considered best practice for optimal performance. Arranging the head tags in this performance-driven way is called ‘orchestration.’

If there is currently no filter or method for changing the priority of Yoast head tags, then perhaps I can submit a feature request. Where would I do that?

    Thanks.

We are afraid to say that the Yoast SEO plugin has no hook or filter to rearrange the outputted meta tags or schema markups in the head tag. You can submit a feature request directly at our GitHub development repository so our development team can either decide on this or might shed some light on this how you can go about doing this as well.
