• I’ve been talking to Paypal support. Now I find out that the WordPress editor does not allow Paypal buttons. It strips out most of the code. Really? Is WordPress a serious CMS? I had to Google how to add a Paypal button that works. This is pathetic. Allow code!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. Thanks for that. After a bunch of fruitless rounds with Paypal tech support and playing a big “beat the clock” game, and after not being warned that WP will strip out half the code in a Paypal button so that users are merely directed to Paypal’s homepage when they click the button, it’s not too hard to come to the conclusion that some rage is expected. I was beyond pissed off. Luckily, I figured out a workaround using Paypal’s direct email link. I’m sorry if previous posts were overly harsh. Thanks for volunteering. I must ask that we use WP users not be babied. Some people who webmaster for clients want their clients to be babied, but let them be the ones to tell their clients “don’t add code.” They should not ban me from adding code to my own site. Thanks.

You’re not banned, though I understand why it seems that way.

The issue is that you’re inserting complex HTML into a GUI editor (TinyMCE) which is not, by necessity, capable of allowing every possible version of HTML. This is both for security and for code reasons, it’s just a hard thing.

If you were to only use HTML only, you’d be fine. If you’re using the nice, pretty, GUI editor, yeah, you’re limited and that sucks :/
