Really weird happenings on my blog

I don’t know if this is an ISP cache problem, a wordpress problem or a server problem, which is why I’m posting here. For the past 2 weeks I’ve had really strange things happening on my blogs, and also that of a couple of client blogs and my daughter’s blog. We’re all on different versions of WordPress so I do not believe it’s related to any particular version and might not even be a WordPress problem.

Posts we publish and which show up in Google Reader disappear a few hours later or a day later. Comments we publish disappear and ones we have deleted or send to the spam filter show up again as comments waiting to be moderated.

I’m kind of at my wit’s end trying to figure out what’s going on and my web guy can’t figure it out either.

We did have a hiccup with cpanel 2 weeks ago and it’s only since then this has been happening. He thought it was because the backup was resetting itself when it was getting to a very large site on the server but he’s got it bypassing that site and the back up seems to be working fine now.

However, that only runs each night in the early hours of the morning, so that doesn’t explain why I can not see a change I made the previous day the following morning, then I can see it a few hours later in that day and then a few hours later it’s gone again. All within the space of 12 or more hours.

Has anyone heard of anything like this happening before?
