Can anyone give even a clue as to why this URL:
https://[my-domain-name]/streams/practitioner/patient-experience/pre-booking/why-and-how-to-pre-booking-visits-in-advance-3-4-weeks/

…would redirect to the homepage everytime, while this edited URL works fine:
https://[my-domain-name]/streams/practitioner/patient-experience/pre-booking/why-and-how-to-pre-booking-visits-in-advance/

Is there a maximum length WordPress URLs/permalink can be??
When I changed the URL to the following it also redirected to the homepage:
https://[my-domain-name]/streams/practitioner/patient-experience/pre-booking/people-are-often-very-busy-these-days-juggling-a-huge-load-between-personal/

Testing:
– I have tested this with all plugins deactivated, and with one of the WordPress default themes activated, so it’s nothing to do with my theme or any plugin.
– This issue is also happening both on my Localhost, and my web host.
– Client also experiencing issue, so nothing to do with my browser caching.

Does anyone have any idea?

You might be able to see where the redirection is coming from with a curl -sIL https://[my-domain-name]/streams/practitioner/patient-experience/pre-booking/why-and-how-to-pre-booking-visits-in-advance-3-4-weeks/

Be it a feature or a bug, WordPress has a ‘wp_guess_url()’ function in the functions.php file.

If you do a search on “wordpress guesses url” you’ll get some interesting results.

@website-rob re “wp_guess_url()”, I tried the following two (plugin + functions.php code) and neither made any difference, so I don’t think that’s the issue (though obviously I have no real idea at present)
