I have not seen these text-based challenges with UM.

I have currently added the following field to my form. however, the captcha image is not displaying.

what is the reason there I already enabled  GD and FreeType PHP libraries i am currently working on local setup xampp.

i just find one bug related to image not display it

the image path is not proper updated can you please update that path

currently path showing:

“”localhost/demo/wp-content/uploadsultimatememberum-really-simple-captcha1419721518.png””

here path structure mismatch

when I update the path to following by inspecting the image tag and edit the HTML

its working fine

can you please give me advice on where to update the plugin file

This is an issue at your site where DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR is undefined.
Try another site than your xampp.

Hello @missveronicatv I am working local Xampp setup so thats why please give me advice on how to solve this in Xampp local environment staging site

Add to wp-config.php the directory separator being used by Xampp either / or \

define( 'DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR', '/' );
or
define( 'DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR', '\' );

DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR is a PHP predefined constant.
