Really Simple CAPTCHA

I used to use Really Simple CAPTCHA to include a Captcha in my form when I upgraded Custom Contact Forms this feature ‘broke’. Was this intentional? Is there a way to restore the functionality? I am not interested in using Google’s ReCaptcha, I wanted a simple stand alone captcha.
