This plugin is far away and above any other ‘trending posts’ plugin at the moment, but there is one huge fault…

Activated the plugin on ‘all time’ mode and visited a couple of posts, then left it to run by itself and see which posts were being viewed (trending).

Set it back to seven days after a short while, and everything disappeared except for the two posts I’d originally visited in the first step.

So now I’ve got the plugin set to ‘all time’, which is not exactly an indication of what is trending, but the display (I’m using the gridbox) is magnificent.

Is there a way to get the ‘seven days’ output working, or better still the ‘one day’ output working so that the plugin works as intended for ‘trending’ posts rather than having to use the ‘all time’ option?

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching here.

Please check in Trending Post-> Trending Post – Settings
and If you select the last 7 days then it displays only the last 7 days publish and trending post.

This means it’s working with both publish and trending.

Let me know if you have any issues or queries.

    Thanks,

Yes, that was how I set it to show seven days worth of trending posts in the first place, but everything disappeared until I set it back to ‘all time’.

As the plugin has only been active for two days so far, I’m guesssing that the current content will be fine up to five more days, then it will just be an ‘all time popular posts’ plugin rather than a trending posts one.

Right, I think I’ve finally worked out what’s happening, and I can confirm that this is really not a ‘trending posts’ plugin at all.

Just set it (in the settings) to allow posts from the last month, and all the posts published within the last month are now showing up, regardless of whether they’re trending or not.

So the reason that all the posts disappeared in the above scenario (7 days) was that last week I published two posts, and they were the ones that were showing up.

So how do I set this plugin to show what’s trending, or popular, rather than which posts have just been published?

Tested it again this morning with the shortcode for the gridbox, and I dunno – it seems fine now.

Is there a way to combine pages and posts plus custom post types by using the gridbox format, as if I try to add two post types (pages, posts) via the shortcodes in the documentation, the plugin just gives up the ghost and stops working?

    *Also*

There’s a shortcode parameter whereby you can hide the comment count, the author, the date published etc.

Is there a parameter where you can ADD the number of post views into the gridbox?
