    Hello.
Probably a quick fix but i can’t get the taxes to calculate in my store at all. I’m displaying product through shortcode. Tried a number of different things from checking all categories and absolute buttons in the OPTIONS/TAXES panel. But to no avail. There’s no sign of communication with the add-to-cart button or checkout page.
Can you help me out here?
    Thanks in advance

I might add that i love this plugin..With a little tweaking it’s the only one i could find that had as much flexibility with ‘variations’ etc.

    Hello.
Can you provide me with screenshot of your tax setup in admin area, and link to your product?

This is a link to the site..Add anything to cart and you’ll see the problem.

Not sure bout the screen shot but my set up is as follows:
    tax rate: 8.75 (not absolute)
    Country: US
    St: CA
    CATEGORIES apply to all

    Apply tax to “billing”
    APPLY TO SHIPPING ‘no’

    Only one tax profile.
Thanx for the quick response. Didn’t get email notice so sorry for the delay.

    Hello.
But you have any state or country select on checkout, so tax module can’t determine it’s billing country and state (it should be US – CA from your settings).

The site at the moment you saw did not have an associated country or state. However i think i’ve tried every combination. Choosing country and state, all countries, all categories (although none of my products are associated with categories…) I even made a category add added a product to it, and still nothing. I just tried allocating a country and state upon your comment but still nothing. This is why i feel the tax plugin is possibly just “broken” in my build or perhaps conflicting with another plugin (???) Don’t know. Let me know anything i can do to help resolve this.

i can say this…maybe helpful, after i change some values in the admin sections, sometimes they don’t stick . I’ll come back to the same admin window to see choices i’ve made not saved and have to select them again..If there is still no COuntry of state chosen right now, that would definitely be the case as i just allocated US and CA to the tax profile.

    Hello.
I can tell you – that it worked when I checked it last time. On your site – at least first problem – was that I can’t select country and state to calculate tax rate. So, add there billing/shipping address fields at first – then I will look on it again.

    (@pedeperere)

Sorry, i don’t think i understand. You’re saying it’s associated with not being able to select country and state? Your quote..…So, add there billing/shipping address fields at first… I just went through and enabled everything that mentioned billing and shipping although there aren’t any registered ‘users’ who will have to log inot the site. And there are no pages for shipping or billing since the customer will be charged at the counter (on pick up) And when i go to my tax profile it has highlited US and CA in the country and state fields. …hm.To be clear, i’m looking for that tax info on the checkout page, if that’s helpful too.

AH! Ok i figured it out. It’s working. The zip code/state was disabled since i don’t really use registered users at this point..As soon as enabled those fields and entered a zip and state the tax showed up. Thank you so much for your help!

But there still is one problem….Is it possible to hard code California into the PHP temporarily so i can bypass the user billing/shipping step and still have the tax added?
I just need a flat rate of 8.75 added period. At this point there’s no need to include the extra steps to checkout.

Sure, you can modify plugin code as you need, but I don’t think that this is really good idea. If you need to add tax for any user state – select all states.

Understood. It’s a short term thing till the payment system is in place.. Thanx again
