Hello! I’ve been testing the plugin and we’re probably grabbing one of the licenses for this amazing plugin. Right now we’re just testing the (free) functions, but I came across something I can’t make sense of. We’re using ACF to build our blocks in Gutenberg and some own “black magic” to make it work like we want. And it seems like the plugin can’t read our content properly? It always say: Post Reading Grade Level: None Your post does not contain enough content to calculate its reading level. Sure the content is in Swedish, but I tried on the english counterpart of this page too and I can’t get any different result. How exactly does this function work? Is it disabled for the free version (cause that would explain it).

I’ve provided a link to the page I tried it on. This is the Swedish version of the page. But as I said I get the same result on the English counterpart.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @kallestonecold,

You’ve identified a bug in the plugin. The reading level will properly update on the summary tab. To get the Readability tab to show you the reading level you’ll need to refresh your browser.

I’ve opened an issue in GitHub to get this issue fixed in the next release. You can follow the progress here: https://github.com/equalizedigital/accessibility-checker/issues/275

    Thanks,

    Steve

So I’ve been checking out the issue #275 and it seems it’s part of 1.5.6 and the plugin is now 1.6.0 (I’ve updated). But it still sais: Post Reading Grade Level: None. Your post does not contain enough content to calculate its reading level.

I’m also wondering if it’s reading our content properly at all. As I said in the initial post. We’re using ACF to generate our blocks and has a very different type of admin when it comes to Gutenberg but essentially we’re using Gutenberg (minus the preview functionality). I can expand on this if needed. But I get the feeling it doesn’t check content at all (for us).

Yes, correct the readability is evaluated on the post content. If your post content is in a meta field the plugin currently will not evaluated it for readability.

No it’s a Gutenberg block made with ACF. So all it’s content is saved in post_content.

If it’s in a block the text should be evaluated. What is the character count of the text?

I can’t seem to find where the character count is in the plugin or do you mean how much text is in post_content from all the blocks?
    Characters?2753?Words?367?Lines?40

I’ve got screenshots on all views of the plugin on the page I’ve tested this time on. But I can’t seem to include them here without self-hosting the screenshots.

When I do a scan of this page I’m getting a reading level of 10th grade.

Also, that page has some kind of blocking on it. I can’t scroll or click on anything. Maybe that’s by design.

Closing this out. If it’s still an issue please open please let us know.
