• Hi. A very strange thing started happening last night after updating WP to the latest version. When a readers submits a new comment, the comment goes where it belongs, at the top of the page of the latest comments. However, the reader now sees the oldest page of comments, from back in 2010 or 2012. They can get back to 2016 comments by hitting the back button, but they’re getting totally confused.

My hosting service hasn’t been able to help. In fact, the first time he tested it, everything worked the way it should. The same thing happened to me. My second test comment redirected me to the past comment page, and it has done so with every additional test comment. Is this happening to anyone else? If so, is there a fix?

The worst page (because it’s the most active) is https://www.ultimatepapermache.com/daily-sculptors-group-page

Your comments are stored in the Database.

Double check your host has not reverted back to your older database

This is the reply I received from SiteGround support:

    >>i have tested and the the application is redirecting to page 1 after submitting a comment while the newest comments are being on last page of the comments in your case page 75.

    >>In that sense there is no server side error and there is no such redirect set for your application. I would suggest to contact a third party developer to assist you in debugging your application. I cannot personally recommend one, but I am sure you will be able to find one easily at the popular freelancer sites.

    >>You may count on us for any changes on our end as per developer’s suggestions.

    >>You may alternatively restore your application from a restore point when it was working as intended. You may order the restore via Basic Backup Service > Restore section in your User Area.

In my discussion settings, it is set to break comments into 20 top level comments per page, and the last page displays by default. Comments should be displayed with the newer comments on top.

This has never caused a redirect to the first page before the last WP update. Do I need to hire a developer?
