    hi

I am investigating the use of different themes with Yoast SEO as my client has to use ‘Readability TAB’ and I cannot see that it is working at all.

I have updated all plugins, Theme and WP.

Then I disabled all plugins except Yoast – https://www.screencast.com/t/PIp5pGbribg and there is ‘You have far too little content. Please add some content to enable a good analysis.’ message when clearly there is content in place.

If I activate ‘Classic Editor’ plugin I get the functions on the ‘Readability Tab’ but they are all greyed out, see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/ehSoYpNH with the message ‘Marks are disabled in current view’?

This is the case with 2012 theme and Genesis theme.

Could you let me know what I might be missing or what I need to enable to get the ‘Readability Tab’ working?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi @wood1e

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the Readability tab on the Yoast SEO Metabox. On the base of the provided video reference, we investigated the page source of your website and noticed that you’re running the very outdated version of the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v4.0.2 while the latest stable version is v15.5. Coming to this stage, your premium subscription is already expired, therefore, either you can update the premium plugin to the latest version or install the latest free version of the Yoast SEO plugin and confirm the issue. We expect that you once updating the plugin to the latest version would resolve the problem you’re currently having.

    hi

I have updated. And with Block editor the ‘Readability’ is now showing, but with classic editor plugin it is not, see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/AY9nEkaIMi4

So is it not compatible with ‘Classic Editor’ ?

and one other point, if I click the readability eyes here: https://www.screencast.com/t/75plkNcXnG. And nothing is highlighted in the text content I presume it means there is no content to correct?

    Hello,

If you’re using the Classic Editor, please make sure that you’re using the Visual mode instead of using the Text or Code View. Based on the video you provided, it looks like you’re using the code view. Can you please try it again and see if it highlights the correct text on your content?

Sorry for the delay in responding I have been away.

I have worked on my homepage and in “Classic Editor’ with ‘view Tab’ See here: https://www.screencast.com/t/E4paq33y the ‘eyes’ are not showing.

but on another page in the classic editor: https://www.screencast.com/t/r7zJ9f7EK

The ‘eyes’ are showing, I cannot work out why this is working on one page, but not on another.
