I am in visual mode, but the Readability Eye Icon will not function. It is taking forever to do corrections without this function working. I am not using Elementor by the way. The theme I am using is Ashe. I have that theme on another blog of mine and the Readability Eye Icon is functioning perfectly there. What is going wrong?

    Hi @dlhoffman

Can you confirm you are using the latest version of WordPress 5.4.1 and Yoast SEO for WordPress 14.1?

Just to clarify, does the Ashe theme have its own content box? Or are you still using the default WordPress classic or block editor? If you are using the default WordPress block or classic editor, it should be expected that the eye highlight functionality would work regardless of the theme. You can learn more about it here — https://yoast.com/help/is-the-plugin-compatible-with-xyz-visual-page-builder/

I can verify that I am using the latest version of WordPress and Yoast. I am using the WordPress Classic Editor and I am in Visual mode.

    Hi @dlhoffman ,

In that case, the eye highlighter should work. We apologize for any problems this is causing with your workflow.

Can you please check if there are any Javascript errors in your browser console that could be interfering with this feature? You can find more information on how to check for errors in the browser console here. You can send us a screenshot of your browser console through an image sharing site like Imgur.
