read_others_attachments has no effect

    Why read_others_attachments even unchecked has no effect. I allowed upload_files but users can see other uploads. Thanks for helping.

    Hi,

    There is no built-in support in WordPress for this capability: read_others_attachments. Custom programming is needed in order to hide from a user attachments uploaded to Media Library by other users. For example, User Role Editor Pro posts/pages edit restrictions add-on shows to restricted user just Media Library items he uploaded himself or attached to posts/pagers he can edit.
