I am using the slider with this shortcode:
    [recent_post_slider design=”design-2″ category=”4″ dots=”true” content_words_limit=”2000″ show_category_name=”false” show_date=”false” arrows=”true” autoplay=”false” show_author=”false” show_read_more=”true” media_size=”full”]

On one of the posts I am using the WordPress read more feature. When the excerpt is pulled through to the slider it adds the words “read more” at the end of the text as well as the Read More button under the excerpt, as can be seen in this screenshot.

How do I prevent this extra text from being added?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching here.

Please check your post and edit post content because you are adding extra “read more” text in your post content section.

Please share a screenshot of your post content editor section.

Let me know if you have any query.

    Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to use the Read More feature the way it is designed in WordPress, to control what text is shown as the excerpt. This works, as the correct excerpt is shown, but with the extra “Read more” text. Is this functionality not fully compatible with the plugin? I don’t want to use the shortcode parameter to limit the number of characters as this would apply to all the posts and I only want to change this one. Here are screenshots of the post content in the code editor and visual editor. I have tried turning off the option to hide the excerpt on the full content page but the same extra “Read more” text appears.

Just in case anyone else is looking for this answer in the future – plugin support checked my website and confirmed the issue is with the way the plugin functions and not something they are going to resolve. The plugin strips out HTML tags which includes the WordPress Read More separator, leaving the Read More label behind as plain text.
