    Hello world,

    WordPress it’s a great blog, I must say ??
But, I have a problem. I don’t have in “Write” section an extended field, a field where I can write more.
First field a resume presentation and then an extended field where I can write the full article.

There is something I can do?
    A plugin or something else?

    THX for your time ??

PS: I hope this is the right section for my problem

  • Couple things to be aware of

Themes can display the posts in two ways: the_excerpt() or the_content().

No clue which your theme uses, but you can check easily enough by looking at your theme’s index.php.

If using the_excerpt, while on the Write Post page, scroll down a bit towards the bottom and expand the “Optional Excerpt” field. Anything you put there is what will show on the main page. Anything you put in the post field is what folks will see when they click to read the entire post.

If using the_content, you can use the <!--More--> tag (you have a button for it above your post editor) to break up content and only show part on the front page.

    Hope that helps.

One last bit – if you are using the_excerpt and want more control of how it does things, check out this plugin: https://guff.szub.net/2005/02/26/the-excerpt-reloaded/
