[Read More…] not showing

Hi,

The [Read More …] link only shows if you select “Show Content Limit”, if you want a “read more” link on an excerpt you have to create one yourself.

I added the following code to the themes functions.php file

// Replaces the excerpt "more" text by a link
function new_excerpt_more($more) {
       global $post;
	return '<a class="moretag" href="'. get_permalink($post->ID) . '"> [Read more...]</a>';
}
add_filter('excerpt_more', 'new_excerpt_more');

jummy, it worked for me. I used it in conjunction with the <!–more–> tag in the post that I wanted to excerpt. Also, I dropped some “p” tags around the anchor/permalink line so that my css could hook in and control the styling of the resultant “Read More” link & text.
