Hi there. I installed and set up the plugin on a staging site, then transferred to live.

When I click on the “Read More” link in the event pop-ups the links are attempting to open pages from the staging site, rather than from the live site. I can’t find in settings where I can alter this.

I’ve used a URL-updating plugin (Velvet Blues) to try to change the URLs, but it returned no results. I also looked in the database – at the tables for My Calendar – but couldn’t find any reference to the staging links.

I’ve considered uninstalling and reinstalling My Calendar, but wanted to check if there is something I have missed in the dashboard settings.

    Thanks
    Dom

Can you provide a link to a page where I can see these URLs? It would help me figure out more precisely what might be happening.

    Hi Joe

Yes. I’ve just added the links back in on the home page so you can see what’s happening.

There are a couple of ways events could get a link that isn’t being derived from the calendar ID stored in the calendar settings.

    1. If your site is missing the uri_id value in settings, and has to fallback to a previously configured uri value.
    2. If each individual event has a custom link saved for it, and that link uses the staging URL.
    3. If you’re fetching the calendar data via a remote DB query rather than directingly from the local database.

In the first two cases, you should have been able to see the staging URLs in your database. In one of them, it would be in the my_calendar_options field in the wp_options table. In the second it would be in the events table for each event. If you didn’t find that, then those seem unlikely.

If you’re getting data from a remote DB, then you’ll have the option checked in the My Calendar general settings for “Get data (events, categories and locations) from a remote database”.

If it’s not one of those, then I’m really pretty uncertain where that’s coming from.

    Hi Joe

Thanks for getting back to me with these suggestions. It was indeed in the my_calendar_options field in the wp_options table.

I changed it to the live-site address and it’s started working as expected immediately.

    Thanks
    Dom
