• Hi,
    many thanks for the plugin.
It seems to me the name you set for the Read More Link can only be entered in a single language, am I right? Is there a way compatibility with a multisite page, i.e. using Polylang, can be achieved, i.e. have a different caption for the different languages the website can be displayed in?
    Many thanks.
    Best,
    Theresa

    You’re welcome.

Will have to test that out and get back to you later today.

    Hi @esather12

    Just released the update.

It works as a shortcode. So for example if you have an English and a German version, this is what you should put in there.

    The shortcode is [advanced_excerpt_text lang="LANG"]TEXT[/advanced_excerpt_tag]

The LANG and TEXT is what you replace.

For example if you have English and German versions this is what you would use:

    [advanced_excerpt_text lang="en_US"]English text[/advanced_excerpt_text][advanced_excerpt_text lang="de_DE"]German text[/advanced_excerpt_text]

    Sorry,
I dont understand how it’s works with shortcode.

Does i need a special setup in the plugin ?

I add the shortcode ( with my lang ) and no effect.

    Thanks

    Hi @newbiew

If you want you can let me know which languages you use and what text you want to display for each language and I’ll send over the full shortcode you need.

It’s same as regular WordPress shortcode:

    [name attribute="value"]some content[/name]

The name is a bit large in this case, but it needs to be that way by the WordPress rules, the prefix is required.

    [advanced_excerpt_text lang="LANG"]TEXT[/advanced_excerpt_tag]

In the example above the parts you need to change are LANG and TEXT

So if you change the LANG to en_US it will show the TEXT part (or whatever you place in there) when the English version of the site shows.

So you copy/paste that same shortcode again with a different value for the LANG for another language.

Make sure that you use the full language code. For example the English version has different language codes like en_US and en_UK

    @wpkube
Thank you so much for this!!!
    It works perfectly!

maybe helpful @newbiew (since I first wasn’t entirely sure WHERE to insert the shortcode): for me it worked when inserted in the field below the “add read more link to excerpt” in the plugin settings.

and yeah, check carefully the languages you use: I also thought first the code for my english language must be en_US or en_UK. in fact, it is en_GB in my case.

    sending lots of love,
    a very grateful

    Hi @esather12

You’re welcome, happy to hear that.

Yeah, goes in the input after the “Add read more link to excerpt” checkbox.

Happy Holidays and wish you all the best in 2021.
