• Hello,

I have inserted the ‘Read More’ tag in four of my articles on the same page, but when I got back to the page after updating, there are no changes. My account is still in maintenance Mode. Should that make a difference?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

  • Hi,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble. Without seeing the site itself, it will be hard for us to help troubleshoot the issue. The site being in maintainence mode wouldn’t cause the issue you’re describing.

If you’ve inserted the read more tag into a post, you wouldn’t see the excerpt created by the tag on that post itself. You would see it in an archive view of the category the post is in.

    Hello Angie,

Our website is now live https://www.empirefootballclubantigua.com. The pages which am having the issue with are Articles and History. Please take a look at them for me and advise me as to how I should rectify the matter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kennedy,

I’m sorry it has taken a bit to respond, we had a death in our family.

So now that I’m looking at this page, it looks like the elements you added to the page were added using Visual Composer. I’m not terribly familiar with VC, so I can’t say for sure, but I’d imagine that the method by which you added those articles to that page shows the full content, rather than the excerpt.

I would suggest checking out the VC documentation and support directly at Code Canyon. The VC developers will be better able to tell you how to customize your posts for that purpose.
