I deactivated the caching for a few weeks. Now I activated it again there where old keys loaded from the redis server. But even worse somehow got some customizer settings replaced by the old settings from last time I had caching on.

I would suggest to add least reset the cache automatically after every deactivation.

Flush your cache, that will restore your real settings.

Sure I flushed the cache. But this was bad I was also logged out and the old password didn’t work. So don’t you think this should be done automatically?

No, I don’t think it’s good to flush the cache automatically. What if there is other data in the Redis database, or in your case you click “activate” and suddenly you’re logged out.

All I can say here is, Object Caching is complicated and only meant for advanced users. If people don’t understand the mechanics of it, they shouldn’t use it.

There are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things.
