Re-Usable Blocks Buggy

Hello!
For weeks, my Re-Usable blocks have simply not worked. Virtually nothing they are supposed to do works correctly.
I’m now seeing the Re-Usable blocks bugs on a Staging site, with zero plugins activated, and on multiple themes (2020/2021).
I’ve spoken with my host (WPE), and researched a bunch. Any ideas?

Something else to add that may be helpful:
I’m seeing Re-suable blocks — in the Block Manager — show this error message: “Block cannot be rendered inside itself.”
This is happening all over the site, on the back-end. Things are largely okay on the front end, but when there’s an attempt to edit the blocks, they break, badly.
